This is the first step which you are supposed to do as soon as you know that you need to move. To prepare the goods for transport properly, many advisors suggest starting with tidying up everywhere first and throwing away any unnecessary items and establish the quantity of goods which needs to be moved to the new property. This is a primary rule of your removal. As soon as you know the quantity of the items you need to select the relevant materials to pack and the removal company.
Cardboard boxes are the best but do not use any that are to big, because they are difficult to transport. Stretch foil and bubble wrap are fantastic materials to use as well, labelling Fragile items and boxes with stickers is also very useful. Strong cellular tape is a mandatory item. Everything is possible to purchase on the internet with online shopping and is good quality. We do not recommend using the cheapest materials due to them being low quality. Also, please do not forget that the removals team provides transport only, you are responsible in securing your goods.
Make sure that a parking space for the man and van service is arranged. Do not forget about vehicle dimensions. You will probably need to contact your local council to provide a visitors permit and suspend the parking bay next to your house. Make sure that there are no parking restrictions there as well. For safety and security purposes parking is supposed to be on the same side of the street as the loading/unloading. Inform the removals team immediately when they arrive about any fragile and high value goods. Also it is very important you make sure that all your goods are secured properly.
